Meet your photographer
Hi, I'm Kerry.
I started Flying Squirrels Photography because I believe the best pictures happen when nobody is trying too hard. Kids climbing trees, grandparents laughing at an inside joke, a newborn's tiny fingers wrapped around yours: those are the moments worth holding on to.
My sessions are easy-going and unhurried. We'll pick a spot you love, I'll gently guide you when it helps, and the rest of the time I'll just let your family be your family. You'll walk away with a gallery that feels like you.
Based in St. Paul, MN, photographing families all around the Twin Cities: St. Paul, Minneapolis and nearby communities like Roseville, Maplewood, Woodbury, Cottage Grove, Lake Elmo, Afton, Eagan and Edina. Happy to travel for the right adventure.

Frequently asked questions
How far in advance should I book?
Two to four weeks is usually plenty. Fall and holiday dates fill up fast, so reach out a bit earlier for those. For newborns, it's best to get in touch during pregnancy so we can hold a spot around your due date.
Is there a deposit?
Yes. A small retainer reserves your date and goes toward your session fee. The balance is due on session day.
Where do photo sessions take place?
Anywhere around St. Paul and the Twin Cities: your home, your neighborhood park, or local favorites like Como Park, Hidden Falls Regional Park, the Mississippi River bluffs, Lake Elmo Park Reserve and Afton State Park. Not sure? I'm happy to suggest a spot that fits your family and the season.
What should we wear?
Comfortable clothes in coordinating (not matching!) colors work beautifully. Once you book, I'll send a style guide with ideas and colors that look great on camera.
What if my kids won't cooperate?
Totally normal, and honestly some of the best shots come from those moments. We'll take breaks, play games and go at their pace.
What happens if it rains?
If the weather doesn't cooperate for an outdoor session, we'll reschedule for the next available date at no extra cost.
When will we get our photos?
Your private online gallery is usually ready within about two weeks. You'll be able to download your images and order prints right from the gallery.
